Groeten uit Mitrovica!
Omschrijving:
Waarom werken als starter in Nederland als je dat ook elders kan? Een gedachte met een bijzonder vervolg: op 24 februari 2013 ben ik vertrokken vanuit Nederland om namens de Nederlandse ontwikkelingsorganisatie SPARK te gaan werken als junior medewerker kwaliteitsmanagement op het International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM). In Kosovo.
Een jaar lang zal ik werken en wonen in de stad Mitrovica, in het noorden van het op-een-na-jongste land ter wereld. Mitrovica staat met name bekend om de centrale brug, die heden 2013 het symbool vomt voor de scheiding tussen het noorderlijke Servische gedeelte en het zuidelijke Kosovaarse-Albanese gedeelte van de stad. Hoewel deze scheiding en etnische spanningen nog elke dag zichtbaar en voelbaar zijn, is het ook een stad van jonge entrepeneurs, koffiebars die als paddenstoelen uit de grond schieten, vriendelijke mensen, oude culturen en bezienswaardigheden en prachtige natuuromgeving.
Het komende jaar zal ik daarom dan ook met enige regelmaat bloggen over mijn ervaringen in Mitrovica en omgeving (er is zowel in Kosovo als omringende buurlanden genoeg te ontdekken), over culturen, het sluimerende conflict wat nog altijd aanwezig is en af en toe ook nog wat over het werk wat ik doe. En natuurlijk zal ik ook veel foto's maken, om de diversiteit van Mitrovica, Kosovo en de Balkan te kunnen laten zien.

Groeten uit Mitrovica!
Omschrijving:
Waarom werken als starter in Nederland als je dat ook elders kan? Een gedachte met een bijzonder vervolg: op 24 februari 2013 ben ik vertrokken vanuit Nederland om namens de Nederlandse ontwikkelingsorganisatie SPARK te gaan werken als junior medewerker kwaliteitsmanagement op het International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM). In Kosovo.
Een jaar lang zal ik werken en wonen in de stad Mitrovica, in het noorden van het op-een-na-jongste land ter wereld. Mitrovica staat met name bekend om de centrale brug, die heden 2013 het symbool vomt voor de scheiding tussen het noorderlijke Servische gedeelte en het zuidelijke Kosovaarse-Albanese gedeelte van de stad. Hoewel deze scheiding en etnische spanningen nog elke dag zichtbaar en voelbaar zijn, is het ook een stad van jonge entrepeneurs, koffiebars die als paddenstoelen uit de grond schieten, vriendelijke mensen, oude culturen en bezienswaardigheden en prachtige natuuromgeving.
Het komende jaar zal ik daarom dan ook met enige regelmaat bloggen over mijn ervaringen in Mitrovica en omgeving (er is zowel in Kosovo als omringende buurlanden genoeg te ontdekken), over culturen, het sluimerende conflict wat nog altijd aanwezig is en af en toe ook nog wat over het werk wat ik doe. En natuurlijk zal ik ook veel foto's maken, om de diversiteit van Mitrovica, Kosovo en de Balkan te kunnen laten zien.

Groeten uit Mitrovica!
Omschrijving:
Waarom werken als starter in Nederland als je dat ook elders kan? Een gedachte met een bijzonder vervolg: op 24 februari 2013 ben ik vertrokken vanuit Nederland om namens de Nederlandse ontwikkelingsorganisatie SPARK te gaan werken als junior medewerker kwaliteitsmanagement op het International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM). In Kosovo.
Een jaar lang zal ik werken en wonen in de stad Mitrovica, in het noorden van het op-een-na-jongste land ter wereld. Mitrovica staat met name bekend om de centrale brug, die heden 2013 het symbool vomt voor de scheiding tussen het noorderlijke Servische gedeelte en het zuidelijke Kosovaarse-Albanese gedeelte van de stad. Hoewel deze scheiding en etnische spanningen nog elke dag zichtbaar en voelbaar zijn, is het ook een stad van jonge entrepeneurs, koffiebars die als paddenstoelen uit de grond schieten, vriendelijke mensen, oude culturen en bezienswaardigheden en prachtige natuuromgeving.
Het komende jaar zal ik daarom dan ook met enige regelmaat bloggen over mijn ervaringen in Mitrovica en omgeving (er is zowel in Kosovo als omringende buurlanden genoeg te ontdekken), over culturen, het sluimerende conflict wat nog altijd aanwezig is en af en toe ook nog wat over het werk wat ik doe. En natuurlijk zal ik ook veel foto's maken, om de diversiteit van Mitrovica, Kosovo en de Balkan te kunnen laten zien.

[description] => Waarom werken als starter in Nederland als je dat ook elders kan? Een gedachte met een bijzonder vervolg: op 24 februari 2013 ben ik vertrokken vanuit Nederland om namens de Nederlandse ontwikkelingsorganisatie SPARK te gaan werken als junior medewerker kwaliteitsmanagement op het International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM). In Kosovo.
Een jaar lang zal ik werken en wonen in de stad Mitrovica, in het noorden van het op-een-na-jongste land ter wereld. Mitrovica staat met name bekend om de centrale brug, die heden 2013 het symbool vomt voor de scheiding tussen het noorderlijke Servische gedeelte en het zuidelijke Kosovaarse-Albanese gedeelte van de stad. Hoewel deze scheiding en etnische spanningen nog elke dag zichtbaar en voelbaar zijn, is het ook een stad van jonge entrepeneurs, koffiebars die als paddenstoelen uit de grond schieten, vriendelijke mensen, oude culturen en bezienswaardigheden en prachtige natuuromgeving.
Het komende jaar zal ik daarom dan ook met enige regelmaat bloggen over mijn ervaringen in Mitrovica en omgeving (er is zowel in Kosovo als omringende buurlanden genoeg te ontdekken), over culturen, het sluimerende conflict wat nog altijd aanwezig is en af en toe ook nog wat over het werk wat ik doe. En natuurlijk zal ik ook veel foto's maken, om de diversiteit van Mitrovica, Kosovo en de Balkan te kunnen laten zien.
